Every transceiver NAFO supplies is manufactured by Coretek Opto in Taiwan. Taiwan is a designated country under the Trade Agreements Act, so Coretek products can be supplied against contracts that carry a TAA requirement. We provide country-of-origin documentation and RoHS certification with any quote on request.

What is TAA compliance?

The Trade Agreements Act (19 U.S.C. 2501) sets country-of-origin rules for products sold under federal procurement contracts, including GSA Schedule purchases. A product qualifies when it is manufactured, or substantially transformed, in the United States or in a designated country.

Substantial transformation means the manufacturing process changes the item into a new article with a different name, character, and use. For optical transceivers, that covers the die attach, wire bonding, surface-mount assembly, and optical sub-assembly work that turns components into a finished module.

Is Taiwan a TAA designated country?

Yes. Taiwan is a TAA designated country. It acceded to the WTO Government Procurement Agreement in 2009, which is the basis for its designation. The current list is published in FAR 52.225-5.

Are Coretek Opto transceivers TAA compliant?

Yes. Coretek Opto manufactures in Taiwan at its own facility, in operation since 1997. Die attach, wire bonding, SMT, and complete optical sub-assembly integration are all performed there, so the substantial transformation happens in a designated country.

This applies across the catalog: SFP, SFP+, SFP28, QSFP+, QSFP28, QSFP56, QSFP-DD, OSFP, PON modules, and AOC and DAC cables, from 155 Mbps through 800G.

Are these transceivers made in China?

No. All Coretek Opto products are manufactured in Taiwan. For buyers who need a non-China optical supply chain for trade-compliance, procurement-policy, or customer-mandate reasons, Taiwan-origin manufacturing is the reason many of our customers work with us.

What documentation can NAFO provide?

We can supply a country-of-origin declaration and RoHS certification for any Coretek Opto product. Ask for documentation when you request a quote and we will respond within 1 business day.

If your contract also carries an NDAA Section 889 requirement, see NDAA Section 889 compliance for how Coretek products sit against that rule.

This page is general information, not legal or procurement advice. Compliance obligations vary by contract and agency. Confirm requirements for your specific contract with your contracting officer or compliance counsel. NAFO supplies country-of-origin documentation so you can make that determination.
